About

Hi I’m Nicole, a psychotherapist with over 15 years of counselling experience.  It’s an honour to wade with people into the love and fear, pain and beauty, messy and magic of life. Humanity is complicated, and so healing and self discovery can feel like contending with the vastness of space. We will work together to move through the stars and build constellations of relations that sustain life and meaning.

As a therapist with extensive experience within diverse communities and practice settings, I’ve supported folks like you, through life’s incredible joys and hardships. From self understanding, grief & loss, trauma, relationships, family conflict, social inequities, sex and sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity, life transitions (separation/divorce, family building, immigration, career changes), depression, anxiety, and illness. As well as supporting other therapists and community workers to continue to care for themselves and others through their own therapy, clinical supervision, and case consultation services. I am an integrative therapist (which means I combine theory and techniques from various therapeutic schools of thought based on the express uniqueness of each person), that believes in the value of relational dynamic in-depth therapy. My approach is deeply relational, compassionate, creative, trauma and structurally informed. Where individual experiences aren’t disconnected from movements in community, or struggles through colonialism, capitalism, or cis-heteropatriarchy.

I began in practice supporting racialized peoples in custody and those impacted by the prison industrial complex. Ive had the honour to support families and individuals through inquests and mass settlements due to systemic violence (CAS, Police, health systems), and colonial policies like residential and day schools. I worked in local Community Health Centres as a therapist supporting individuals and families from all walks of life. I provide therapy within and alongside community organizing efforts and art programs. I have extensive experience supporting BIPOC and Queer community, as well as therapists, organizers, students, parents, academics and artists of all kinds. I have an eclectic community of clients from all walks of life and vocations, who are looking for more from their therapy journey.

I believe healing happens in relation, and I am dedicated to nurturing a compassionate space where we can build trust, care, understanding, creativity, even humour in the process. I work to really get to know you, through that deep listening and building understanding, you get to really know yourself in the world. We work together to uncover what healing and transformation in your life can be. Approaches drawn upon include Psychodynamic, Narrative, Existential, Systems, Attachment, Liberation Psychology, to cultural, creative and others, in order to support the therapeutic journey. My practice is informed by queer, feminist, abolitionist, anti-colonial thought and disability justice.

Finding the right counsellor can be tough, I know. It’s more than just picking a name off a list. So please contact me if you want to chat, ask some questions, and explore whether we might be a good therapeutic match. I look forward to connecting with you.
